At the invitation of SIT’s Investment and Commerce Club (IAC), 8I Education went down to their campus. Kelvin Seetoh took the stage and provided an introduction of value investing to a group of around 50 eager students.

There are actually a lot of good companies around us which are listed! How many of you know that?
The session ended very well and many students were excited to learn more about value investing. Some of them decided to take action to learn more about investing via our Value Growth Workshop.
Kelvin Seetoh, Analyst, 8I Education, said: “For many young people out there, now is absolutely the best time to start investing. If you do not know how to start, find a mentor who is successful at investing or start to read investing books. In fact, compared to the past, the internet is rich with valuable information to kickstart your investing journey. Once you’ve acquired the knowledge, it is yours forever and no one can take it away from you. Be patient with yourself within the first year and learn aggressively. Your results will compound slowly but surely. When you know that you are able to obtain financial freedom for yourself and the people around you through a time-tested approach, that is the best feeling.“
Dion Ong, the charming President of SIT IAC, provided Kelvin with a testimonial.
We hope that the students walk away with a greater desire to learn more about investing. We are also proud of deepening our relationship with the universities – especially after concluding our first ever Inter-Varsity Stock Research Challenge held in our Value Investing Summit 2017.
